this is what we do!
Impacting Owings Mills, Baltimore & Beyond
It’s that time of year!
At Uproar Church, outreach is at the heart of who we are. We believe love isn’t just something we say — it’s something we show. Every act of kindness, every gift, and every helping hand makes a difference as we work together to impact our city and bring hope to families in need.
As we step into this special time of year, we’re preparing for our two biggest and most meaningful community events — the Thanksgiving Giveaway and Christmas Toy Giveaway. These annual outreaches remind us why we do what we do: to share love, hope, and generosity with families right here in our community.
Over the next few weeks, we’re inviting everyone — whether you’re part of Uproar or just visiting our site — to join in making this year’s outreach the best one yet. Together, we can reach more families, meet more needs, and spread more joy than ever before.
How You Can Get Involved
Bring in non-perishable food donations that will go directly to families in our community this holiday season. Donations can be dropped off right in our church lobby — and you’re welcome to invite friends, family, or coworkers to give alongside you!
Accepted Donations Include:
Canned Corn
Canned Green Beans
Boxed or Bagged Mashed Potatoes
Boxed Mac & Cheese
Boxed Stuffing
Canned or Packet Gravy
Boxed Cornbread
Every single item counts — your generosity directly determines how many families we’re able to serve.
We can’t wait to come together — as a church, as neighbors, and as one community — to love God, love people, and cause an Uproar of kindness and hope this holiday season.
What we’ve done!
OPEN ARMS OUTREACH
Because of your generous donations to our Open Arms Outreach, many people experiencing homelessness have warm clothes, blankets and resources to aid them during this difficult season in their lives. As we met their physical needs we received their smiles, laughter and gratitude for being there. Every hug, prayer and kind word they received impacted their live as well as the lives of all the volunteers who served them.
Mount Clare outreach
The residents of Mount Clare truly enjoyed the UCARE Outreach experience.
Children played in the moonbounce, took advantage of all the games and ate lunches until they were full. We offered prayer and provided recovery resources, food, and health screenings to women caught in human trafficking. We had support for those experiencing drug addiction and aiming to survive through the unfortunate means of prostitution.
This outreach allowed the entire community to experience a safe, warm, welcoming place; a sense of normalcy, and a lot of love.
Gas Giveaway in Owings Mills!
The Gas Giveaway was an exciting community event. Volunteers were on hand, pumping gas for families while spreading joy with smiles and service.
This special outreach not only helped ease the burden of fuel costs, but it was a wonderful reminder of how coming together can have a great impact.
BLOCK PARTIES
Don’t let the name fool you —these block parties were designed to serve the entire family. Not only did we have food, music, games, and moon bounce, resources were available for parents! Adults in attendance are able to take advantage of voter registration, cell phone provision, health care assistance, educational resources and more!
These summer outreaches brought energy and shined a light on the needs of many in underrepresented and underserved communities.
day of hope
In late July of 2024, our thoughts and prayers were with the Brooklyn Homes community following the mass shooting tragedy. We have partnered with Brooklyn for years to inspire hope and provide key resources. In response to such violence, we sprang into action again to show love to the residents, provide lunch, resources, assistance and prayer.
Many hugs and smiles were exchanged. Many requests for prayers were responded to. Healing is in progress. We will continue to show up for Brooklyn and be a beacon of hope!
BACK-TO-SCHOOL giveaways
Through your giving, we were able to provide families with backpacks full of supplies to ensure they start the year off positioned for success. With the start of a new school, buying school supplies can put financial stress on families with limited resources. They often have to decide between purchasing new clothes for their children, purchasing school supplies, or simply keeping the lights on. For these reasons, and so many more, we were excited to take this burden off families across Greater Baltimore.
thanksgiving giveaways
Families across Baltimore had a seat at the table this Thanksgiving because of your giving. Brooklyn, Cherry Hill, Gilmor and Latrobe Homes were all served turkeys and sides to have a complete Thanksgiving meal with famiies and friends. A full stomach gave them a full heart. We are grateful for your sacrifice.
Christmas toy giveaways
What better way to celebrate the birth of our Savior than by serving those He cares for - the least, the lost, and the left out. We took Christmas gifts to housing communities throughout Baltimore to serve families. Your giving ensured no kid missed the joy of Christmas.
