OUR PASTOR

Pastor James Teague is the Founder and Lead Pastor of Uproar Church located in Owings Mills, Maryland.

Born and raised in Baltimore City, Pastor Teague learned the value of hard work from a young age as he helped his mother provide and care for their family. Throughout his teenage years, he spent hours training under the guidance of his trainers who were devout members of the Nation of Islam, exposing him to much of the Islamic culture. He would soon rise to become the #1 Middleweight Champion in Maryland, DC, and Virginia, leading to multiple Golden Glove Tournament wins.

This upbringing is why he has a heart to reach all people with the promise of salvation. Using his voice for the unheard and overlooked, Pastor Teague has a passion to fight for equal rights.

At 19, he gave his life to Christ which ignited a vision of establishing unity and creating change in a lost and divided world. He first founded Uproar Church, followed by UCARE, a nonprofit targeting communities in need in the Baltimore area. His latest endeavor to come forth is a discipleship program called “The Catch.” From its conception “The Catch” was developed to instill leadership principles and foster growth in all areas of life from personal to spiritual.

Pastor James has been the keynote speaker for many churches and events including The Potter's House of Dallas and the Kenya Christian Fellowship of America's annual leadership meeting. He has also been invited to participate in panels at the International Leadership Summit. His preaching style draws many different people from all walks of life. Athletes, politicians, doctors, entrepreneurs and many in between are all drawn to the encouraging message of hope in Christ.

As his endeavors in various areas of speaking, writing, and traveling the world grow, he continues to build his ministry and nonprofit into larger and more effective philanthropic tools used to create change, unify the divided, and heal the broken.

As an advocate of accountability, Pastor Teague submits to the guidance and leadership of Bishop T.D. and First Lady Serita Jakes of The Potter’s House of Dallas. Church decisions are overseen by our church leadership team and the board of directors.
